Frequently Asked Questions

When should I schedule my baby’s circumcision?

We encourage parents to contact us as soon as they learn they are expecting a baby boy. Early scheduling allows us to plan around your due date and reserve a tentative appointment. Final arrangements are confirmed after birth.

When is the best time to perform an infant circumcision?

Circumcision is fastest and easiest when performed in the first few weeks of life (typically between days 8 and 30). At this stage, healing is extremely fast and discomfort is minimal.

Is the procedure painful for the baby?

Rabbi Khakshoor will explain the procedure and discuss his approach to pain management with you beforehand. Discomfort is kept to an absolute minimum. Using swift, precise techniques combined with soothing methods, babies settle quickly and are often feeding peacefully within minutes.

How long does recovery take?

Many infants heal within approximately one to two weeks, although recovery times vary. Parents receive detailed aftercare instructions and guidance.

Why choose an in-home circumcision over a hospital or clinic?

In-home circumcisions eliminate stressful clinic visits, long wait times in waiting rooms, and exposure to hospital germs. Your baby stays in a familiar, comfortable setting, and parents receive undivided, unhurried personal attention.

Do you perform circumcisions for non-Jewish families?

Absolutely. While Rabbi Khakshoor is a certified Mohel, he regularly serves families of all faiths, cultures, and secular backgrounds who want a skilled, experienced specialist to perform a gentle in-home procedure.

What if my baby was born prematurely or had jaundice?

Baby health and safety always come first. If your pediatrician or Rabbi Khakshoor feels the baby needs extra time to gain weight or clear jaundice, the procedure will be scheduled once the baby is fully ready.

Do you travel outside Los Angeles?

Yes. Rabbi Khakshoor serves families throughout Southern California and may travel to additional locations by arrangement.
